Solar cell study gets IICT Scientist National Award
Dr.Surya Prakash Singh, scientist at Inorganic and Physical
chemistry division of the Indian Institute of chemical Technology
(IICT), has been selected for National Academy of sciences, India
(NASI)“Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Award 2012”. He award
for his contribution in the area of solar cell research.
He has been involved in
novel C-C bond forming reactions and synthesis of new and highly efficient
sensitizers for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC). The chemical
increased the efficiency of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells to a record 11.4
per cent, breaking the record set five years ago.
