India, China to touch 100 billion US Dollars bilateral trade
mark by 2015
India and China are
agreed to step up their defense and security dialogue and work in the
direction of achieving
a bilateral trade target of 100 billion US dollars by 2015.
- In the Rio+20 Environment Summit the agreement reached on the sidelines during a dialogue at their 40-minute meeting between Indian PM Manmohan Singh and his Chinese PM Wen Jiabo. India invited Chinese investment in infrastructure in India.
- Both countries have already agreed to establish a strategic and cooperative partnership for peace and prosperity.
- Chinese authorities have already given green light to India for start exporting basmati rice to China.
- On the trans-border rivers issue, China has assured that its hydro-power project on Brahmaputra River in Tibet will not obstructing the water flow to India. It said that the dam is not big enough to affect the lower riparian regions in India.
