ICC Awards 2013 declared

Prolific Aussie batsman and captain Michael Clarke has been conferred on the prestigious 'Cricketer of the Year' and 'Test Cricketer of the Year' twin honours at the recently (Dec 2013) announced annual ICC Awards 2013.
Other Awards:

• Srilankan Kumar Sangakkara bags the 'ODI Cricketer of the Year' prize.
• Solid Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, fondly called 'second wall of India' after Rahul Dravid, got 'Emerging Cricketer of the Year' award - his first ever ICC award.

Eligibility: A player have to be under the age of 26 and have played fewer than 5 Tests and/or 10 ODIs and/or 5 T20Is at the start of the performance period taken into account to determine the winner in the 'emerging player' category.

• Destructive Irish batsman and useful all-rounder Kevin O'Brien won the Associate and Affiliate award.
• His performances played a key role in Ireland qualifying for the 2015 World Cup.
• Twenty20 International Performance of the Year went to Pakistani pacer Umar Gul who destroyed South Africa with an awesome bowling figures of 2.2-0-6-5 in a match played on March 3, 2013. 
• Genteel Sri Lankan batsman Mahela Jayawardene bagged his second Spirit of Cricket Award for walking before being given out while he was on 91 in a Test match against New Zealand.
• English umpire Richard Kettleborough received Umpire of the Year (David Shepherd Trophy) award.
• Women Laureates:
• Formidable Kiwi (New Zealand) batter Suzie Bates won the Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year award. 
• T20I Women's Cricketer of the Year prize was clinched by Sarah Taylor (England) for the second year in a row.
