- Dr KC Chakrabarty, the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India resigned on 20 March 2014.
- His resignation came three months ahead of the completion of his term due to personal reasons.
- Dr KC Chakrabarty was appointed as RBI Deputy Governor for a three year term on 15th June, 2009 and was subsequently given a two year extension.
- His extended term was to come to end on June 15, 2014 but he resigned earlier.
Note :
- RBI as its official Directors have a Governor and four Deputy Governors.
- After the resignation of Dr KC Chakrabarty, now two posts of deputy governor of RBI are vacant.
- Earlier, on 20th Jan 2014 Mr. Anand Sinha retired from the position of Deputy Governor of RBI.
