- NTPC has inked an MoU with Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL) and Lakhisarai Bijlee Company (LBCPL), to set up a power plant in the state.
- The company will set up Kajra thermal project in Lakhisarai district of Bihar, with an investment of Rs 9,200 crore.
- The project, with a capacity of 1,320 MW, will be executed in two units. Each unit will have 660 MW capacity.
- NTPC will implement the project in a JV with BSPGCL.
- In the JV, NTPC will have 74 per cent stake and the rest will be with BSPGCL.
- Currently, NTPC has an installed power generation capacity of more than 42,000 MW.
