• Olympian long distance runner Ranjit Bhatia died on 9 February 2014  in New Delhi. 
• Ranjit Bhatia was 77 years old. 
• He was a famous long and middle distance runner, sports journalist and educationist. 
• He represented India in 1960 (Rome Olympics) 5000 meter race and participated in Marathon race. 
• He was honored with an Order of British Empire award for his services to the game and his role as a bridge between sports of India and United Kingdom.
