India test-fires Agni-II missile successfully
On 9 august 2012 India successfully test-fired its medium ranges nuclear capable Agni-II ballistic missile with a strike range of 2000 km. The missile produced by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The 20-metre long and weighted as 17 tones. Agni-II is a two-stage, solid-propelled ballistic missile and has the capacity to carry a nuclear war head of weighing one ton. It climbed 20 km after lifting off to a height of 220km, and then flew 2,00km in a flawless mission of 700 seconds towards the target at Bay of Bengal. This mission held at Wheeler Island, off the Odisha coast. The missile Ranging Agni-I 700km, Agni-II 2,000 km, Agni-III-3,300km. The future projects are Agni 4 and Agni 5 to launch.
