Japanese PM Shinzo Abe witnesses Republic Day parade


The Nation celebrated 65th Republic Day this year. The main function held at Rajpath, Delhi where President Pranab Mukherjee unfurled the tricolour and take salute of the Parade. The Parade showcased India’s military might and cultural diversity to the world. Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe was the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day parade. He is the first ever Japanese dignitary to grace the occasion.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Sunday keenly witnessed the Republic Day parade at which he was the chief guest.
  • Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is on an official visit to India from January 25 to 27 at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh. Their discussions added substance and content to the India- Japan Strategic and Global Partnership.
  • PM Shinzo Abe announced a loan of $2 billion for 3rd phase expansion of Delhi Metro that would add another 103 km to the network.
Both the countries signed eight pacts in various fields including power generation,culture, education and tourism. The pacts were signed after the delegation level talks between the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe in New Delhi.
