Tata Sikorsky produced first indigenous S-92 copter cabin

Tata Sikorsky, the joint venture firm of Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation of the U.S., manufactured India’s first 100% indigenous S-92 helicopter cabin at its Hyderabad facility.
The joint venture which came into existence in 2009 to produce S-92 cabins took three years to develop and deliver 50 cabins at the facility.
At present, the facility manufactures all the 5,000 parts needed for the cabin in the Hyderabad facility.
As per the company, Global demand for S-92 helicopters is on the rise, and cabins for the same will be sourced from Hyderabad.

What is S-92?

The Sikorsky S-92 is a four-bladed twin-engine medium-lift helicopter built by Sikorsky Aircraft for the civil and military helicopter market. The S-92 was developed from the Sikorsky S-70 helicopter and has similar parts such as flight control and rotor systems.
